BBQ’s, pool parties, Memorial Day events, and Independence Day celebrations, these are all the makings of Summer. I absolutely love having a reason to grill by the pool no matter what day it is. With the rapid rise of popularity in brunch events, it only makes sense that brunch and BBQ’s will be the top two themes of the Summer this year.
So if you’re planning to host a fun event sometime this Summer, whether its this weekend or the Fourth of July you can’t go wrong with festive brunch theme.
Here in the #FeistyKitchen we thought it would be a great idea to set up a Memorial Day BBQ Brunch. We wanted to put a little spin on the traditional BBQ celebration, and make it a day for just the ladies.
We literally put this brunch together with in 2-3 hours this is including food preparation and decor.
How to recreate this event:
I found all of these cute dishes and decorations at a few local stores. Check it out!
All of the serving ware I found at Walmart. I absolutely love the Better Homes & Garden Collection at Walmart, it’s almost as if it was created specifically for blogging lol.
Do something a little different and use soap dispensers for condiments. It’s chic and unique! 😉
The Pioneer Women knew exactly what she was doing when she came out with these pretty dishes. The entire collection screams brunch, tea time, and everything else rustic chic. So in love with all of her pieces. Can you believe those placemats are under $5?! 😍
Last but not least, the flowers. To save a little money and add to your decor inventory opt for silk flowers. I picked up these beauties while they were 50% off at Hobby Lobby. I didn’t have any red flowers, so I grabbed a $9 bouquet from HEB, my local grocery store. They blended well and definitely brought everything together.
Make Sure you have the essentials, fresh fruit, pastries, and a waffle or pancake option.

Bacon Wrapped Turkey Dogs
– 8 strips of bacon
– 1 pk Turkey Hotdogs
– 1 pk Whole Wheat Hotdog Buns
Preheat Grill to 300ºF.
Wrap each hotdog with one piece of bacon, candy cane style. Make sure to tuck the ends really good, so the hotdogs don’t unravel.
Cook hotdogs on the grill for about 5-6 mins, rotating occasionally for even cooking.
Serve hot with your choice of condiments.

Preheat oil to 375ºF
For Sriracha Aioli: Mix 1/4 Cup Mayo or Plain Yogurt with 2-3 Tbsp of Sriracha and 1 Tbsp. of lemon or lime juice. Once combined, set aside.

Cook sausage according to package instructions. I grilled the breakfast patties on the grill with the hot dogs. SOOOOO YUMMY!
Next, begin to build your sliders. I made 3 different kinds, Sausage & Cheese, Egg & Cheese, and Bacon, Egg & Cheese.
Sausage & Cheese Sliders: I made double meat and double cheese sliders.
Bacon, Egg, & Cheese Sliders: I split two pieces of bacon into half making 4 pieces and topped them with 1 egg and 1 slice of cheese.
Egg & Cheese Sliders: Is exactly what it sounds like, 1 egg and 1 slice of cheese.
You can place these in the oven on 275ºF to melt cheese and keep warm until ready to serve.
